The Gateway Program is a planned expansion and renovation of the Northeast Corridor (NEC) rail line between Newark and New York that includes the construction of new rail bridges, tunnels, and the expansion of Newark Penn Station to double train capacity across the Hudson River from Newark, allowing for additional high-speed rail service. ​
