RVL Mayors Alliance Meeting

Mayors of towns along the Raritan Valley Line (RVL) met to discuss NJ Transit’s response to three issues facing commuters on that line and how best to advocate for their residents. RVL Mayors Alliance is working to  improved service, including one-seat ride during peak hours and weekends, same platform transfer, and station improvements.

RVL Mayors' Alliance Meeting

Mayors of towns along the Raritan Valley Line (RVL) met to discuss NJ Transit’s response to three issues facing commuters on that line and how best to advocate for their residents. RVL Mayors' Alliance is working to get a same platform transfer in Newark, return of the off-peak midtown direct trains and ultimately, direct trains during peak commuter hours and on weekends.

NJ Transit and the DOT Commissioner "Listening Tours"

NJ Transit Executive Director Kevin Corbett and Department of Transportation Commissioner Diane Guiterrez-Scacetti will be hosting a public listening session. While they chose a time that is not ideal for commuters, I would encourage as many residents to come out as possible to show the extent of our disappointment and anger in NJ Transit’s poor service and communication. Westfield Mayor Shelley Brindle and Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr and the Raritan Valley Mayors' Alliance will also be there to advocate for improved service and one-seat ride.
